‘Une Histoire de l’Ombre’ 'Tales of the Shadow'–             20' – 2016

Voor de eerste keer vertellen mijn grootouders hun verhalen over de oorlog. Verhalen die ze nog niet aan hun kinderen hadden verteld maar zelfs niet aan elkaar. Na het horen van deze verhalen ga ik op zoek naar hun herinneringen in Frankrijk om de wonde misschien een beetje te kunnen helen.

The documentary is about the third generation asking for the first generation's stories. Stories about their life when they were hidden as Jewish children in the war. Stories they have never told, not to their children and not even to each other. They start talking about their blotted-out past, and with that information I make a road trip, to search for their memories.
